What musical will you always remember for its choreography/dancing?

Jelly’s Last Jam starring Gregory Hines was like nothing I had ever seen, the choreography was seamlessly interwoven with the story. I could not get over how he moved.

What musical will you always remember for its music?

Every time I hear any cast album of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies, I just can’t get over the sheer volume of brilliant songs. Every one is astonishing.

What musical will you always remember for its book/virtuosic acting?

I have seen three out a possible five Gypsy’s on Broadway. Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters and Patti Lupone each brought something amazing and  different, and each rose to the challenge.

What movie would you love to see musicalized?

PSYCHO. I’m a huge Hitchcock fan!

What showtune makes you stop what you’re doing and bust a groove?

“Take Me For What I Am” from RENT. There is something about that song that whenever I hear it, I have to get up and sing and dance.

What musical is your guiltiest pleasure?

The first show I ever saw in New York was an off Broadway show called BIRDS OF PARADISE, a modern musical version of The Seagull. It was written by David Evans and Winnie Holzman, and I still have the cast album.
