The Musical Stage Company is pleased to announce the February 2027 in-person edition of ONE SONG GLORY, our flagship free youth arts training and education program. Stay tuned for our upcoming audition call – Registration will open November 16.
ONE SONG GLORY is a fully subsidized, four-weekend, in-person musical theatre training intensive for youth that builds community, self-confidence, and self-expression through masterclasses, musical theatre performance training, and performance presentations.
Our goal is to offer participants in High School from Grades 9-12 a professional rehearsal environment, insight into the industry, opportunities to engage with new works, and guidance to help them build a fruitful career in the performing arts.
We are thrilled to offer the program once again in 2027, growing our community of young performers, and giving students from across Ontario access to fully subsidized training led by the country’s leading musical artists.
We are proud to report that, to date, over 1,000 young Canadians have completed ONE SONG GLORY, without any cost to the participants. Past participants are now gracing international stages and Canadian concert halls including Broadway and the Stratford and Shaw Festivals.
With ONE SONG GLORY, youth will come together to train and grow under the guidance of theatre professionals in a positive and encouraging environment.

Registration Submission Deadline
The registration portal for ONE SONG GLORY opens on Monday November 16th, 2026. The deadline to register for an audition is Monday January 11th, 2027.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants are expected to be available for all 4 Saturday intensive sessions, and all day on the day of the performance.
To conclude our free training intensive, participants will perform contemporary musical theatre songs under the guidance of top Canadian musical theatre artists in their final showcase performance.

How is ONE SONG GLORY being delivered?
ONE SONG GLORY will be offered in person in February and March 2027 in Toronto. We are thrilled to be back delivering the program in person, giving young performers access to fully subsidized training led by Canada’s leading professional musical artists.
Is there a cost to the program?
No! We are thrilled to say that the entire program is fully subsidized so that cost is not a barrier to participation.
What is the time commitment for the program?
If selected, you will be required to attend all 4 Saturday intensive sessions and the final Sunday performances (see details on the Training Intensive Dates tab).
How do I register for an Audition? What do I need to have prepared?
The online Audition Application Portal will open on November 16, 2026! Please check back then to apply. Auditions are first come first serve, so register right away to avoid disappointment. You will need to prepare 32 bars or up to 2 minutes of one musical theatre song that shows off your voice. We kindly request no Sondheim, which can be a challenge to sing with a live accompanist without any prior rehearsals. Please bring sheet music prepared in a binder for the accompanist or choose to sing with a track. If you select bringing your own backing track, please ensure it is the instrumental version only. An accompanist will be provided. You may accompany yourself if comfortable. Please follow our Musical Theatre Audition Tips Sheet for more audition guidelines.
If you are unable to attend the auditions in person, please fill out the application form on November 16th and also follow the Video Preparation Guidelines to send in your audition video by Friday January 22nd, 2027. Please note that the weekly training intensives will all be in-person for ONE SONG GLORY 2027 in Toronto.
Who can be involved in ONE SONG GLORY?
40-60 High School Students in Grades 9 to 12 in Toronto and the GTA will come together to train under the guidance of Canada’s top musical theatre professionals in a positive and encouraging environment. Participants will be invited to join the ONE SONG GLORY Training Intensive after the Auditions. We are actively seeking performers who love to sing, act, and move, who are looking to learn more about the professional musical theatre world and train in the field. Previously, the program was for ages 13-19. Please note that this has changed to High School students only.
When will ONE SONG GLORY take place?
The 40-60 artists invited to join the program will meet in person on four Saturdays in February and March 2027 (please see exact dates on the Training Intensive tab). The final presentation will take place on Sunday March 7th, 2027.
Who will participants be learning from in the program?
Participants will be placed into cohorts, under the guidance of a Canadian director and music director. Masterclasses and Panels will be with other top Canadian musical theatre professionals.
What will the final ONE SONG GLORY presentation look like?
In groups, the participants will perform contemporary musical theatre songs under the guidance of top Canadian directors, choreographers, and music directors to be performed onstage on March 7th, 2027.
