BLACKOUT Community Listening Party

Share

On August 14th, 2003, Toronto was sent into chaos when the largest blackout in Canadian history left millions stranded in the dark and unable to reach or connect with their loved ones.

Inspired by real events,  BLACKOUT is a new Canadian musical that depicts three stories of connection that unfolded when the city was dark, and strangers banded together to find the light. Written by Steven Gallagher, with music & lyrics by Anton Lipovetsky, this breathtaking new work features a star-studded Canadian cast including Broadway star Chilina Kennedy!

After offering two live audio-described performances during the run of BLACKOUT in High Park Amphitheatre, The Musical Stage Company is hosting a free Community Listening Party celebrating BLACKOUT for theatre lovers who are blind, low-vision, or partially sighted. This Community Listening Party will allow you to enjoy BLACKOUT from the comfort of your own home and mix and mingle with members of your community. Join us on October 21 at 7:00 PM ET on Zoom to experience a professionally-recorded and professionally audio described podcast version of BLACKOUT, followed by an immersive talkback with members of the creative team.

Your Community Listening Party will be hosted by Christine Malek, and will include an audio pre-show introduction to the piece, and audio-described programme materials.
