MSC’s 2026/27 – 2030/31 Strategic Plan
We are incredibly pleased to launch The Musical Stage Company’s (MSC) five-year strategic plan, spanning the seasons from 2026/27 to 2030/31. We are entering an exciting new era, building on the strengths of our foundation as a leader in Canadian musical theatre and launching into our next act.
Fundamentally, this plan reaffirms our core vision: “where music and storytelling collide.” We shall remain committed to the pursuit of exceptional storytelling, aspiring above all to develop and stage compelling productions. It is particularly critical at this juncture for Canadian voices, Canadian values, and Canadian vision to attain visibility on our domestic stages and on stages globally.
Having firmly established MSC as a leader in the development and production of musical theatre within Canada, this plan articulates the methods by which we will sustain and expand the organization. This will be achieved by capitalizing on opportunities that promote innovation, maintain relevance, and broaden our leadership profile. We intend to realize new opportunities through internationalization, the assertion of our cultural values, strategic incubation, and the establishment of a new festival dedicated to new musicals.
Our overarching Strategic Objective is to elevate MSC to a globally recognized leadership position and an international hub for new musical theatre. This will be accomplished through the creation, development, and production of deeply compelling and emotionally resonant musicals by Canadian artists and creators.
We anticipate sharing this ambitious and compelling future with you.
