When do tickets go on sale for Cynthia Dale? Is the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre accessible?

Accessible seating is located in the orchestra levels only of both the Elgin and the Winter Garden Theatres. A limited number of transfer seats (i.e., seats with removable arms) are available in both theatres. Please note that transfer seats are of a standard width. Patrons who have special requirements may wish to call in advance (416-314-2872) to notify the Winter Garden staff of your needs. Physically challenged patrons should be aware that the location of mezzanine and balcony seating requires the climbing of stairs.

When should I arrive at the theatre?

To facilitate physical distancing, we have indicated on your ticket a preferred time of arrival.  As you are able, we ask that you arrive within the designated timeframe.

What should I do if I am feeling unwell in advance of my performance?

Please do not attend if you have a fever or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of attending, or if you have had close contact with anyone suspected or confirmed of having COVID-19.

Where is the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre?

The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre is situated in the heart of downtown Toronto at 189 Yonge Street.

Can I bring my pet with me?

No, except for service animals, pets are not allowed in the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre.

Where can I park?

There are several public parking lots close by, including:

  • Municipal Parking lot on the south side of Queen Street, just east of Victoria Street (opposite St. Michael’s Hospital), entrance on Queen Street
  • Eaton Centre parking lot, accessible from Shuter Street
Are there washrooms available on site?

There are washrooms available inside the venue for patrons to access.

Do I have to wear a mask?

The Musical Stage Company staff and volunteers will remain masked onsite at The Winter Garden Theatre. We kindly ask that patrons remain masked throughout their TAKE THE MOMENT viewing experience.

Subsidized Tickets

All performances and programs of MARQUEE will have fully subsidized ticketing programs to increase access. Through partnering with community-led organizations, 10% of all MARQUEE tickets will be offered free of charge, ensuring participation from all corners of Toronto’s diverse population.

WINTER GARDEN THEATRE SAFETY GUIDELINES

THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Face Coverings: The Musical Stage Company staff and volunteers will remain masked onsite at The Winter Garden Theatre. We kindly ask that patrons remain masked throughout their Take The Moment viewing Experience.
  2. Reduced Contact: As much as possible, interactions between theatre staff and patrons will be contactless.  This includes ticket scanning, box office, and concessions transactions. 
  3. Physical Distancing: Staff, stanchions, barriers, and signage will be in place throughout the theatre to ensure physical distancing is maintained for patrons.
  4. Sanitation: Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the Winter Garden Theatre. All high-touch surfaces will be sanitized both prior to and following each performance.

Putting it Together: In Conversation with Richard Ouzounian

Join us before each performance of TAKE THE MOMENT for a pre-show conversation, hosted by director Richard Ouzounian. Putting it Together creates a point of contact for patrons with compelling local theatre artists to discuss the development of Canadian musical theatre.

Offered 60 minutes before each performance of TAKE THE MOMENT. Putting It Together is complimentary for all ticket holders.

 

ARTIST BIO

One of Canada’s most acclaimed and sought-after performers. She is a true and veritable ‘triple sensation’, garnering rave reviews as an award-winning actor, singer, and dancer onstage and on screen.

Cynthia has been working professionally since she was five years old when she began her career in a production of FINIAN’S RAINBOW at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. She has since worked extensively in theatre from New York to Stratford, and on screen in countless film and television productions.

Cynthia began working in television as a young child, performing with Tommy Hunter and Wayne and Shuster and in many CBC variety specials. At the age of eight, she played the role of the young Emily Carr in a musical special about the life of the Canadian painter. Her film and television credits include eight seasons as Olivia Novak on the highly popular, STREET LEGAL. Other credits include: MOONSTRUCK, THE BOY IN BLUE, HEAVENLY BODIES, A BROKEN LIFE, SPENSER FOR HIRE, TAKING THE FALLS, THANKS OF A GRATEFUL NATION, WITNESS TO YESTERDAY, BARNUM, MADE IN CANADA, and as a judge for two seasons on TRIPLE SENSATIONS. She also starred in and co-produced for CBC the musical film CHRISTMAS DREAMS.

She spent 12 seasons with the Stratford Festival. Credits include: Charlotte Malcolm in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC; Fosca in PASSION; OUTSIDE LOOKING IN concert production; Myra Arudal in HAYFEVER; Red Queen in ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS; Dorothy Brock in FORTY-SECOND STREET; Edythe Herbert in MY ONE AND ONLY; Nellie Forbush in SOUTH PACIFIC; Maggie in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF; Sarah Brown in GUYS AND DOLLS; Reno Sweeney in ANYTHING GOES; Eliza in MY FAIR LADY; Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC; Aldonza in MAN OF LA MANCHA; Annie Sullivan in THE MIRACLE WORKER; Bianca in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW; Guinevere in CAMELOT; THE MIKADO; and THE GONDOLIERS.

Other theatre credits include: Charity Valentine in SWEET CHARITY; LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE; SYNCOPATION; TAMARA (New York City); DAMES AT SEA; and PAL JOEY – for which she won a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

With three albums of well-loved show tunes under her belt: “…To dream”, “More…”, and “Enchanted,” she is also a recording artist. In recent years Cynthia has done concerts across the country with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Orchestra.

Cynthia has a star on the Stratford Bronze Star Walk of Fame, an Honourary Degree from Fanshawe College, and an Honourary Doctorate of Laws from McMaster University.

Cynthia was featured in the April 2019 edition of Zoomer Magazine.

Each performance of TAKE THE MOMENT will be captioned live. Audience members will be able to access the captions on their personal device by connecting to free wifi and scanning a QR code at the theatre. There will also be tablets available for those who would prefer to use a larger screen.
