Subject to restrictions, a limited number of patrons can attend one of three performances at Koerner Hall from September 30-October 2 as we film the performance with a live, socially distanced audience in attendance. What is UnCovered?

Now in its 15th edition, UNCOVERED is The Musical Stage Company’s annual signature concert event. Normally held annually, solely at Koerner Hall in Toronto, UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton will be offered in person live at Koerner and will be available entirely online during a later run in Fall 2021.

The 90 minute, In-Person event, UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, live at Koerner Hall. Will take you on a journey through your favourite Dolly classics reimagined by Canadian Music Superstars.

The 90 minute, Digital UnCovered Experience will showcase the professionally filmed, recorded, and beautifully edited film that was recorded during the in-person Dolly experience. On the evening of your performance you will join a Zoom room with the other patrons from your performance date, and a Musical Stage Company Representative. There we will welcome you to UnCovered, treat you to a 3-song, live, acoustic performance by one of our featured artists, and then transfer you over to the digital theatre where you can watch the UnCovered film.

As such, UNCOVERED 2021 will run live September 30th – October 2nd at its long-time home venue, the inimitable Koerner Hall. UNCOVERED 2021 live at Koerner Hall, will welcome small socially distanced audiences of 175 guests per performance. The live concert experience will also be filmed, capturing the breathtaking grandeur of Koerner Hall, and presented digitally alongside special live performances to patrons from November 24nd – December 11th. From the safety and comfort of their own home, patrons will experience a masterfully filmed concert, offering an up-close, personal view with behind-the-scenes content and exciting new camera angles as well as bonus performances created live for a digital viewing audience.

Who is performing in UnCovered?

Our cast consists of Canadian Music Legends who have graced stages, screens, and concert-halls nation-wide. Our cast includes (in alphabetical order) Jully Black, Beau Dixon, Sara Farb, Hailey Gillis, Kelly Holiff, and Andrew Penner.

What will the concert entail?

Featuring the same high quality musical arrangements you’ve come to expect from our annual concert, UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, whether online or in-person will feature breathtaking performances of Dolly Parton’s greatest hits, reimagined by music director, Reza Jacobs, and performed by Canadian music icons.

What is the difference between UnCovered In-Person, and the Digital UnCovered Experience?

Our in-person performances of UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, will be taking place from September 30-October 2, live at Koerner Hall. The concert will feature our incredible line up of Canadian music artists, performing Dolly classics reimagined for new voices. This event will be at 20 % capacity for the safety and wellbeing of our audience members, crew, and performers. The show will run 75 minutes and will be quite similar to previous UnCovered shows that are live at Koerner.

The Digital Experience of UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, will be taking place online, in our virtual theatre, from November 24-December 11, Wednesday-Saturday. The Digital Experience will begin at 8:00PM (EST) with a virtual lobby on Zoom, where a Musical Stage Company representative will welcome you to UnCovered, and treat you to a 3-song, live, acoustic performance by one of our featured artists. Then we will transfer you over to the digital theatre where you can view the UnCovered film.

How long is the concert?

The In-person UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, will be 75 minutes in length. The Digital Experience of UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, will be closer to 90 minutes in length, when the pre-show zoom experience and live digital performances.

Where is the in-person UnCovered event taking place?

The in-person UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, will take place at Koerner Hall in The Royal Conservatory of Music (273 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M5S 1V6).

What is the capacity of the venue?

The seating capacity of Koerner Hall is 1135. We will only be selling 175 tickets, to ensure the safety of our audience, our cast, and our crew members.

What about the safety risks of an indoor in-person event?

We are committed to bringing you inspiring live music and events, in a way that is safe and responsible.

The Royal Conservatory of Music is following all Health Canada, Public Health Ontario, and Toronto Public Health guidelines, and implementing all recommendations to protect the health of our audiences, students, artists, faculty, staff, and community members.

We are adhering to current government-regulated capacity limits for indoor events.

The TELUS Centre, including Koerner Hall and our other concert venues, has the following procedures in place for anyone entering the building:

  • The Royal Conservatory requires proof of full vaccination by approved COVID-19 vaccines, along with a photo ID for entrance into the building and all theatres. Human Right Code exemptions from vaccination may instead provide proof of a negative test result for COVID-19 administered within 48 hours of the time that access to the premises is being sought. As defined by Toronto Public Health, currently individuals are considered fully vaccinated once they have received the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series (e.g., Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca) and where 14 days have passed since their final dose.
  • Physical Distancing everywhere in the building and concert halls.
  • Mandatory masks everywhere in the building, including during concerts.
  • Hand sanitizer is provided at every entrance/exit, and key locations throughout the building.

Can I chose my seat?

To ensure safety and adequate physical distancing, patrons will not book a specific seat in the venue. Instead, they will select a section within Koerner Hall and be assigned a seat in the section on the night of the performance.

DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

Tickets for the digital version of UnCovered: The Music of Dolly Parton, can be purchased Through TicketSpice (click here). Tickets to the digital UnCovered experience are sold per household for $35 (inclusive of HST & ticket fees) on the specified viewing date of their choosing. 

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for the UnCovered: Digital Experience still need to be purchased to qualify for any group experiences (included pre-show parties & add-ons).

Group Tickets (tickets of 8 or more) are offered for $29 per household and can be purchased by contacting katiegorham@musicalstagecompany.com.

  • Ticket purchasers will be provided with more information and special instructions prior to each concert date.
  • Physical Distancing will be adhered to by all guests, everywhere in the building and concert halls.
  • Masks are mandatory for all guests, everywhere in the building, including during concerts.
  • Hand sanitizer is provided at every entrance/exit, and key locations throughout the building.
  • People can choose print-at-home tickets or bring their e-tickets on their devices on the day of the performance. Tickets are not currently being sent by mail.

We’ve partnered with The Jazz Bistro, one of Toronto’s finest bespoke restaurants, to offer you gourmet catering packages delivered right to your door, to pair with your UNCOVERED Group booking (only available in the GTA, minimum of 8 participating households required)
