Robert McQueen, Director, New Musical Development

Director, teacher and dramaturge, Robert McQueen has worked across Canada, the US and internationally.
For The Musical Stage Company he has directed productions of The Light In The Piazza, Caroline, or Change, Falsettos, The Wild Party and most recently, Reframed, a Musical Stage Company commissioned work that was presented in association with the Art Gallery of Ontario and You Are Here, another Musical Stage Company commissioned work, which premiered at the Thousand Islands Playhouse.
His other directing credits include Man of La Mancha for the Stratford Festival, Where Elephants Weep at the Chenla Theatre Phnom Penh, and Carousel for the Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo.
Robert was the Associate Director of the Broadway and North American companies of Mamma Mia and was Resident Director on the Hal Prince and Susan Stroman production of Showboat.
Robert has worked on the development of new musicals and opera in both Canada and the US for companies that include Vancouver Opera, The Canadian Opera Company, the In Tunes Theatre Conference (Vancouver), Yonge Street Theatricals (Toronto), CAP21 (New York), The O’Neill Centre (Connecticut), and internationally with the NGO Cambodian Living Arts in Phnom Penh.
